Our approach
One team for the whole job
Installing a stove is more than lifting it into place. The flue, the hearth, the ventilation and the finishing all have to work together, or the stove will smoke, under-perform or, worse, become unsafe. That is why we take responsibility for the entire installation rather than one small part of it.
Every job begins with a survey. We look at the room, measure the chimney, check the condition of the flue and talk through how you want to use your stove. From there we recommend the right approach and give you a fixed-price quote in writing.
On the day, our fitters protect your floors and furniture, work carefully and keep you informed. When we finish, we clear up, test the installation and show you how everything works.
Core services
What we install and fit
Six services that cover almost every stove installation we are asked to carry out.
Stove supply and fit
We can supply a stove chosen to suit your room, or fit one you already own. We size it for the space so it heats comfortably without overpowering the room.
Chimney lining
A stainless steel liner makes an old chimney safe and efficient. We fit flexible and rigid liners, insulated where needed.
Twin-wall flue systems
Ideal for homes without a chimney. An insulated stainless steel flue rises internally or externally and is finished to look tidy.
Hearths and register plates
Every stove needs a suitable hearth and a sealed connection to the flue. We build and finish both to the required standard.
Chimney sweeping and smoke tests
Before fitting we sweep the chimney and smoke test it, so we know the flue is sound and free from leaks.
Building Regulations certificate
We complete the paperwork and provide a certificate, which your insurer or a future buyer may ask to see.
Wood burning and multifuel
Fitting the right stove for your room
Wood burning stoves burn logs only and are prized for their clean, lively flame. Multifuel stoves burn wood and approved smokeless fuels, which makes them flexible and a common choice in smoke control areas when the model is DEFRA exempt.
Size matters more than most people expect. A stove that is too large will be turned down low, burn poorly and blacken its glass. One that is too small will never quite warm the room. We work out the heat your space actually needs and suggest stoves in the right output range, usually between four and eight kilowatts for a typical living room.
Stoves rated at five kilowatts or under can generally be installed without a dedicated air vent in a room that is not airtight, which keeps the finish simple. Larger outputs need extra ventilation, and we plan for that at survey stage.
Already bought a stove? We will happily fit it. Just send us the make and model.

Chimneys and flues
Lining, sweeping and building new flues
Most older chimneys were built for open fires and are far too wide for a modern stove. Left unlined, they cool the flue gases too quickly, which encourages tar and creosote and makes the stove hard to light. A correctly sized liner solves this and protects the chimney from acidic condensation.
We fit liners in grades suited to the fuel: a lower grade for wood, a higher grade where multifuel or smokeless fuels are used. Liners are insulated in cold or exposed chimneys, and sealed at both ends so fumes cannot escape into the house.
Where there is no usable chimney, a twin-wall flue system offers an excellent alternative. It can run up inside the property or on the exterior, and makes a stove possible in extensions, open-plan rooms and new builds.
- Flexible and rigid stainless steel liners
- Insulated twin-wall flue systems, internal and external
- Cowls, pots and rain caps to suit the chimney
- Chimney sweeping, camera surveys and smoke tests

Safety first
Built to be safe, not just to look good
A stove is a controlled fire in your home, so safety is never optional. We maintain the correct clearances to combustible materials, use a hearth of the right size and construction, and make sure every joint in the flue is sealed.
A carbon monoxide alarm is required whenever a solid fuel appliance is installed, and we fit one as standard. We also explain what to do if the alarm ever sounds, and how to keep your flue clear year after year.
After installation, we recommend sweeping the chimney at least once a year. It is a small cost that protects your family, keeps your stove running efficiently and preserves the validity of your home insurance.
Extras
Related work we can help with
Many customers ask us for related work while we are on site. We can remove old gas fires, fireplaces and surrounds, repair or rebuild damaged chimney breasts, and prepare the room for redecoration once the stove is in.
We can also advise on log storage, fuel supply and where to buy a moisture meter, stove thermometer and guard. Small details like these make daily use of your stove easier and safer.

Service questions
Short answers to the questions we hear most about our work.
Do you supply the stove?
Yes, we can supply and fit, or fit a stove you have bought elsewhere. Either way the installation carries the same care.
Will my chimney need lining?
Almost always, yes. Liners improve draw, reduce tar build-up and make the chimney safe for a modern stove.
Can you install a stove in a flat?
Often, subject to the lease and the building. We will advise at the survey stage.
Do you remove old fires and gas fires?
We can remove old fireplaces, gas fires and surrounds as part of the preparation for your new stove.
