Who we are

Stove installers, not a showroom

Carlton Stoves is a team of professional stove installers serving homes across the North East of England. We do one thing and we do it well: we fit stoves safely, neatly and to the standard your home deserves.

Because we do not run a showroom, we do not carry the rent, rates and display stock that push up prices elsewhere. Our costs go into skilled fitters, quality materials and proper aftercare. That is how we keep our prices reasonable without cutting a single corner on safety.

We are happy to fit a stove you have already bought, or to advise on the right model for your room, your chimney and your budget. Our advice is independent, because we are not trying to clear a shop floor.

What we do

Every part of a stove installation

From the first survey to the final certificate, we handle the whole job so you deal with one trusted team.

  • Stove supply and fit

Wood burning and multifuel stoves supplied and installed, or fitted to a stove you already own.

  • Chimney lining

Stainless steel flexible or rigid liners sized and fitted to suit your stove and the fuel you plan to burn.

  • Twin-wall flues

No chimney? We build an insulated flue system through a wall or roof, neatly finished inside and out.

  • Hearths and openings

Hearths, register plates and fireplace preparation, including reopening blocked-up chimney breasts.

  • Sweeping and smoke tests

We sweep and test your flue before fitting so we know it is safe and drawing properly.

  • Certification

Building Regulations sign-off and a certificate for your records and your home insurer.

From enquiry to first fire

Five clear steps, with no surprises on the day. Most homes go from first call to a lit stove within a few weeks.

  1. Enquire

Send photos of the room and chimney, or give us a call.

  2. Survey

We check the flue, hearth and clearances, then advise on stove size.

  3. Fixed quote

A written price for the work, agreed before we begin.

  4. Install

A clean, tidy fitting, usually completed in one to two days.

  5. Handover

We show you how to light, run and look after your stove.

Our specialist area

Newcastle is home ground

We install more stoves in Newcastle than anywhere else, and that experience shows. From Victorian terraces in Jesmond and Heaton to 1930s semis in Fenham and newer homes in Kenton, we have met the chimney you have before.

That local knowledge saves time and money. We know which properties tend to have lined or blocked flues, how smoke control rules apply across the city, and what a Newcastle home typically needs to pass its safety checks first time.

Much of Newcastle is a smoke control area. We will only fit stoves that suit the rules where you live.

Our promise

Craftsmanship you can see and trust

A stove installation is mostly hidden. The liner, the seals and the clearances sit behind plasterwork, yet they decide whether your stove is safe and efficient for the next twenty years. We take as much care over what you cannot see as what you can.

Our fitters are experienced tradespeople, not sales staff. They lay dust sheets, work methodically and finish every job with a tidy hearth, a clean room and a stove that lights first time. If anything is not right, we return and put it right.

Many of our customers come to us through recommendation from neighbours and friends. That reputation matters to us far more than advertising, and it is why we treat every home as if it were our own.

Whether you want a compact stove for a small terrace or a statement piece for a large family room, we will explain your options in plain language, with no jargon and no pressure. When you are ready, we will give you a clear price and a date.

Getting started

The easiest way to begin

You do not need to know which stove you want or whether your chimney is suitable. Simply take a few photos of the fireplace and the outside of your house and send them with your postcode. We will tell you what is possible and roughly what the job involves.

From there we can arrange a visit or continue by video call. Either way, you will receive a clear written quote, and you are under no obligation to go ahead.

Common questions

A few quick answers. More detail is on our advice page.

Do you have a showroom?

No. We are installers only, which keeps our prices sensible. We bring advice and samples to your home instead.

Can you fit a stove I have already bought?

Yes. We regularly fit stoves bought elsewhere and will confirm it suits your room before we start.

Do I need a chimney?

No. A twin-wall flue system can be fitted through a wall or ceiling where there is no existing chimney.

How long does installation take?

Most installations take one to two days, depending on the amount of lining and hearth work involved.

Ready for a warmer home?

Tell us about your room and your chimney. Photos help. We will reply with a clear, fixed-price quote and no obligation.
